Cheating AI and degree of torelance
« on: February 23, 2011, 08:04:23 AM »
Yes it says it cheats but when just colonized planet pumps out a size 64 carrier full of fighters and
half dozen of default capitol ships after 1 minutes of carrier, i just give up. And tech was so high.
I was playing on easiest cheating.
Some of AI colony ship slipped away my pursuit and successfully colonized in adjacent system just
beside my home system. Most planets in there were just colonized already by me. Thanks to
insta carrier and capitols, I lost my whole system.
More interestingly, my main fleet was attacking enemy home system and got 2 planets out of 4.
I saw no resistance at all, but only few already defending bombers.

Is it possible to tweak how much bonus resource and tech points cheating(sponsored cough cough) AI gets? Like
Resource +10%~+200%
Tech +10%~+what ever percent.
Gap between trivial cheating and easiest cheating is too great.

Cheating AI in vanilla does not get technology bonuses, only resources. The amount is defined by their difficulty and scales with the already elapsed game time. After an hour, an easiest cheating AI gets about 2,25M Metals and Food, 900k Elects and 450k AdvPts per second, absolutely independent of their production.

An alternative way could really be to increase the amount they get from each facility, rather than granting free resources. This way it could easily be defined in the game settings. I'll play around with this.  ;D

At first glance, my brain ignored this part. Too much to believe.
I thought one time bonus. False. Per second.
Thanks for clarification. ;D

I think so. If you can replicate it again, please report it again and let me know what GA version it was saved with.

I confirm - the hardest (even cheating AI) on galactic armory (GA) mod is beatable without problems. The only difference between non cheating AI on GA and cheating was that the cheating had a lot of extra colony ships. Generally the AI on GA struggles for some reason to be competitive.
There is no need to send save games, just run the game on 30 systems with hardest AI with cheating on GA and see that for yourself.
