Battle Simulations
« on: May 29, 2012, 03:42:27 AM »
Hi, first post (i think).

For people who have piece of crap computers/laptops(like me), maybe there should be battle simulations, where everything is viewed from birds eye view and is flat. everything will be viewed from the top, but will keep all effects like the glow and stuff. Maybe a setting that changes the graphics, from keeping it nearly like the original game just top view (restricting the physics to a 2D plain has to be less cpu/processor intensive) to it being more like a game where they are low-high quality sprites (or something, so not 3D at all) so its more like Gracious Space Battles.
Somewhat like this, just more customization options obviously. and no battlefield besides the whole galaxy.

i hope this is a good suggestion, i really want to play SR without my laptop crashing.

I think I've been sigged more times as a result of my comments in this thread than I have in most of my other activity on these forums.

I like this idea, but I'd like to expand it to add a sort of "sandbox" mode where you can test out ship designs against each other like in GSB. Or even a sub-game. It would take what's great about GSB and give it application to what's great about Star Ruler. I love the trial and error, but I would also find it cool to be able to simulate how my ships perform and fiddle with odd designs in a box I control.
