I'm getting error code -1, usually around 55% downloaded.

Just to make sure, you're attempting to update an unedited install of the game, correct?

No. I had to rm the c/c++ runtime to get it to work. BTW, you probably shouldn't package those with your games in the future (just libc, everything else is fine). It's not necessary on Linux, and your game will eventually break because of it.

Editing the game will prevent the updater from succeeding.

That's a bit of an issue. Perhaps you should update the installer on gog.

Found a workaround in the meantime, for anyone else who runs into this issue. If you install and update the windows version, it also downloads the Linux files. The main difference is the location for the icon is different, and you have to exec StarRuler2.sh rather than start.sh in the desktop file.

You still have to delete the packaged C/C++ runtime, though.
