Title: RangeRing problem
Post by: WarpObscura on April 24, 2012, 09:44:39 AM

GLSL: failed to retrieve uniform information
Materials/shaders.txt(35) error Sd004: Error loading shader "RangeRing", see previous lines for specifics

This tells me absolutely nothing about how to resolve it. Anyone know?

Possibly your graphics drivers or card do not fully support OpenGL's shader language. What is your graphics card, and are its drivers up to date?

I'm using nVidia GeForce 310M, drivers seem okay... is there a precedent for laptop graphics cards not playing nice with SR?

Same with GTX960M, even after driver refresh.

Bahh. It seems the issue is not with the GTX card itself. At least in my case the problem is that Star Ruler is not considered graphics heavy program by the system so by default it uses the intel card. I have not yet found a way to add Star Ruler to the program list in the GTX controller, so the workaround is right click on the program icon and select run with graphics processor and then the Nvidia.
