Camera MOD v1.0.2.2

Camera MOD v1.0.2.2

This version of the Camera MOD works with the 1.0.2.2 version of Star Ruler. It allows you to zoom into an object without the donut effect, or hole that you usually get, particularly if you would choose a large spacing between stars. Now you can choose anywhere from 1,000 to 5,000,000 spacing. Works with any of the Map choices, Cluster through Spiral.

Installation:

Rename or backup the Star Ruler Maps directory files.

Copy the Maps directory and it's script files into the Star Ruler Maps directory.

The autoexec.ini file has three commands in it:

   1. zplane 1000000 - This command along with the mod enhances the prevention of clipping when you zoom up to a ship or planet.

   2. bind F12 zplane 1000000 - This binds F12 to the command just in case you at some time change the zplane ratio you can quickly reset it to 1000000 by pressing the F12 key.

   3. bind F11 fov 0.88 - This binds F11 to the command and changes the field of view such that you can view at even closer range. Once again you can always change it back to 1.047 in the console. This just allows quick execution of the command to change it to 0.88 by the F11 key.

If you are already using commands in your autoexec.ini file in your Star Ruler User folder, just copy these lines into your autoexec.ini file. Otherwise just copy the autoexec.ini into your User Files directory via the Star Rulers User Files Link.

8. Choose any map and any system spacing from 1,000 to 5,000,000 and GO...!

Because fortunately you guys made it very easy to modify the game. I'm getting ready to upload two more mods that adds some changes to the game base on my preferences.

Is it compatible with 1.0.1.2? Seems to be a nice mod to me :D

Hey, Great mod, but I seamed to have a problem in that it reduced the sizes of all the stars in the galaxy.

Not sure if this is intentional? Till then I think I will revert to original settings. Still using the raised atmosphere part of your mod though I liked that a lot  :)

Yes, it was intentional. Because when I look up at the stars, I do not envision stars huddled so close and big as they are in the original game. I envision them at vaster distances. So the size of the star is to give the illusion that you are very far away from it. You can still zoom up very close if you see fit. Also I use a different skybox to also add to the illusion. Notice the screen shots.

Would be great if I could zoom in on my ships without the system-plane making the whole lower half of the screen invisible and the effing camera clipping through stuff before I can see the details :(
I'm using "Advanced spiral galaxy" as my map of choice with 2 galaxies, might be the great distance between the 2.

If you implement the zPlane aspect of this mod, the clipping is greatly negated
I run the same mod with 6 galaxies with a fair distance between with practically zero clipping
