System full of dead ships
« on: December 25, 2010, 12:47:39 PM »
I wanted to take over this system, so I jumped with my ship and found this. Two AIs were fighting with each other and left sooo much ships.

Perhaps space damage should do a percentage instead...

shouldn't it only take 1-2 blowing up for a massive chain reaction to start tho. 7 hours in the AI should be using anti-matter generators shouldn't they?

I also I want to add that I played with 150 stars and game started start to lag on my Core2Duo 8400 because AIs build a lot of ships of scale 4.25 and 6. BTW computer used both cores.

NNOOOO! Do not make them disappear faster, that image has my scale 250 salvage ships drooling!

maybe a way to compensate for this is to give everything a signature value - and when a system reaches a certain signature magnitude a research tech skill or some other determining factor make it show up as a sort of deep space ping, doesn't have to make the system visible but it'd allow activity hotspots like this to be seen so that they can be dealt with appropriately.

Dealt with appropiately? The quickest solution I can think of is to send in a team to blow up the star and hope it wipes the debris. And more Fusion/AM generators will help too :D

Ship graveyard...

Maybe some "dead" ships limit, with active/unactive and quantity limit as options on settings, could help?
When the limit is overpassed, the oldest ship dissappears. What about it?

Is this really a result of the fight?

Or a result of poor ship design and crews dying, leaving "dead"/uncrewed ships behind?

And if there are intact crewless ships there, is there a way to "harvest" these vessels for additions to your own navy? Besides raw materials and maybe also tech advances?

Either way Lots of Salvage for somebody!

It is result of of fight between two AIs. They built massive amount of dreadnoughts, capital ships, cruisers and Einsteins.

There is, you can board crewless and enemy ships and add them to your navy.

that is a lot of ships, reminds me of my demo design, about 1,250 scale .25 ships in one fleet with fusion generators, but luckily their shields protected them for about 25 seconds. Then it was a big boom with 250 ships gone instantly and the rest to follow soon

Haha, OP, that's amazing. I guess it was good to have space damage changed to percentual.

Hahaha! Awsome pic. Now you need to design a Jump Salvager!
