In the spirit of amazingly overpowered super-weapons...

As long as its some absurd tech level of spatial dynamics like 5-6 past ring-worlds or even 10-15 lvls past that, it shouldn't really break any balance.

You know jumping a battle planet into a system would be cool as crap!

Really?

It doesn't seem to have any practical use since at a good enough tech level, single ships are much more powerful than entire planets full of planetary weapons. If there was more variety in planetary weapons, maybe.

The Remnants Galactic Senate allows you to transport planets.

Its fun to warp your enemies core worlds into systems that are swarming with your ships :).

Hehe ... but at that point the game doesn't feel that balanced any more as it does the first 15 tech levels. At past-ringworld tech i get the impression that planets are small fragile things that must not be sneezed at, or they fall apart.
